It’s your turn. Picture this: Enter a both elegant and rustic foyer at The Lodge at Woodloch. Constructed of indigenous stone, timber beams and large windows, sublime views are at every turn, allowing for a seamless and harmonious co-mingling of the indoors with the outdoors. Local artists work adorns the walls to add beauty. Be greeted by a Zen inspired chorus of grand chakra bowls that sit as a central showpiece. Let them sing a tranquil welcome song to you as you enter this adult’s only lakeside sanctuary. From there, allow your stress to melt away as you lose yourself in all things calming, serene for mind, body and soul. This property and all its accoutrements sit like a magical secret, beckoning in the mountain woodlands of the northern Pocono region of Pennsylvania, offering a vast array of award-winning destination spa amenities including top notch gourmet cuisine, classes and activities. Stay in one of their spacious guest rooms and feel peace hug you or perhaps take a brisk hike on the wooded grounds. Retreat to your newly refreshed sanctuary, where all rooms include a private veranda overlooking the wooded lake, a double granite vanity, private water closet, oversized marble shower and/or tub, signature shower amenities, a 55”’ Smart TV, complimentary high speed Wi-Fi, a Smartphone USB port, spa robes and slippers, a refrigerator, in-room safe, hair dryer, iron and ironing board and sheeting and plush bath towels. While visiting, choose your own path as all guests are provided with customized activity packets, each including an itinerary, class schedule and a complete guide to Woodloch. Take full advantage of the variety of resort offerings including fishing, hiking, kayaking, row boating and more. Go on an adventure or just watch from afar on your own lazy hammock. Woodloch has its own art studio offering drawing and painting classes.

Do as much or as little as you please. If you choose to do little but spend the day at the onsite spa, that will be more than enough to nourish you. Enjoy the fully heated pool for laps, take a refreshing dip or for the more ambitious guests, participate in a water aerobics class in their glassed-domed gazebo space. There is also an outdoor horizon-edge whirlpool with a heated deck, inviting year-round use. Linger at the soaking pools with their hydro-massaging waterfalls or have a chat over tea, poolside. Men and women have separate areas for privacy, each with their own steam rooms, saunas, hot tubs and fireplace lounges with a variety of teas and healthy snacks. On the lower level, enjoy a decadent massage or facial in one of the 27 fully equipped treatment rooms. Perhaps try a Woodloch signature treatment such as the Abhyanga Hot Oil Massage, an ancient technique of warm herbal oil application to your skin, that improves circulation and detoxifies while improving muscle and nerve function and reducing pain.

Upstairs are mind/body studios for yoga, aerobics, a dedicated Pilates training area and a cardio-weight studio. Their signature heated hydro massage water walls at their ever-cascading Aqua Gardens is a massage onto itself. Linger over the pulsating water and feel body aches and pains dissipate. Perhaps make an appointment at their onsite Lotus Salon and refresh your look with a new haircut or a restorative spa manicure. Peruse the in-house boutique for some mementos to bring your experience home.
